It’s Derby Day on the last week of the Guinness Pro 12 regular season, an exciting day for the fans and one last chance for hopefuls to impress the national selectors. The results, however, won’t mean much. With no relegation and all four playoff spots clinched the only dust left to settle is the final seeding order. Leinster have the league title in their hands but if they fall at Ravenhill it leaves the door open for Munster. Scarlets and Ospreys meanwhile go head-to-head to determine 3rd and 4th place.
As has been the case for much of the season, there’s little to cheer for from an Americas perspective. A pair of Canadians will take part in Llanelli where DTH van der Merwe is named as a reserve while World Cup teammate Tyler Ardron starts in the second row for Ospreys.
American-born Tommy Seymour is on the right wing for Glasgow Warriors against Edinburgh, and Canadian export Robert Barbieri will wear No 8 for Benetton Treviso at Parma. Two Argentines will act as front row reserves in Italy – Alberto Porolli for Treviso, and Guillermo Roan for Zebre.
