Uruguay Humbled by Georgia at JWC

Uruguay were humbled by hosts Georgia at the Junior World Championship (JWC) on Tuesday. The Eastern Europeans scored all of the tries in a 56-3 victory over Los Teritos. Georgian captain Luka Narsia led the way with a hat-trick.

It was the second meeting between Uruguay and Georgia in a shot space of time. Los Teros played host to the Lelos in a test match as part of the World Rugby Nations Cup this past Saturday. In what was a far more competitive contest, Georgia were 41-24 winners in Montevideo.

Georgia’s U20 victory over Los Teritos concludes the group stage for both teams with Georgia booking a 9th Place Semi Final against Italy and sending Uruguay into a 13th Place Semi Final against Spain on Sunday.
