Pumas Injection in Super Rugby Americas 2026

There will be an injection of Pumas in Super Rugby Americas (SRA) 2026. Players capped by Argentina at the Senior Men’s level and Los Pumas 7’s players have been confirmed on rosters announced today, December 24, for the SRA 2026 season.

Three Pumas have been included on Argentine rosters for the SRA 2026 season. Of them two are also making professional returns to Argentina following careers abroad. It is a homecoming for both center Matías Orlando and winger Santiago Cordero. Both are former Jaguares players in Super Rugby.

The third capped Puma named on a roster for SRA 2026 is Santiago Pernas. The winger will join Cordero and Los Pampas for the upcoming season. Pernas made his test debut for Argentina against Uruguay this past July. He was replaced in the second-half by Cordero who officially retired from international competition that day.

In addition to the three capped Pumas, there is also a healthy inclusion of Los Pumas 7’s players including players from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Alfonso Latorre, Alejo Lavayén, Agustín Fraga and Tobías Wade will all compete in SRA 2026.
