Bristol Bears Recruit Toby Fricker from MLR

The Bristol Bears have recruited Toby Fricker from Major League Rugby (MLR). The English Premiership club has a crisis in the backs. Having recently brought in Matías Moroni from Argentina, the club has now Fricker also as a medical joker.

Fricker is a versatile player covering wing and fullback and is actually a former Bristol Bears player. He has previously played 34 times for the English Premiership club. His immediate arrival comes from the MLR where he played for Anthem RC and New England Free Jacks in 2025.

The USA international has also previously played for Untied Rugby Championship (URC) sides the Dragons and Ospreys in Wales. He played Rugby Sevens for Wales in 2017 and transferred to the USA whom he debuted for in 2024, doing so via his mother. He played wing in the Eagles’ triumph over Samoa which saw the USA qualify for Rugby World Cup 2027.
