Uruguay were scoreless against Wales on Thursday at the Junior World Championship in Georgia. Wales scored all 47 points on the field to blank Los Teritos. The match was the second of three pool matches for both teams. Uruguay face hosts Georgia in their remaining pool match while Wales face the mighty Baby Boks from South Africa.
Wales U20 scored four first-half tries and three in the second-half. Steffan Emanuel was the first to score in what was a first-half double. Emanuel notably scored his tries as an early replacement. Starting No 8., Alex Ridgway also scored twice for Wales.
Fly half Lloyd Lucas was another stand-out performer for the winning Welsh. Lucas converted five tries while replacement Carwyn Leggatt Jones landed one nine minutes from full-time.
Wales’ bonus point win sees the Western British side top of Pool A for the time being. This is so ahead of Georgia vs South Africa. The South Africa vs Wales match will be played on Tuesday hours before Georgia vs Uruguay.
