Canada Women claim Bronze in Sevens Series finale

One conversion turned out to be the difference for Canada’s Women as they edged the USA 21-19 in the Bronze Final at the Bordeaux Sevens on Sunday. The victory not only claimed third at the season finale tournament, it also secured a podium finish at the end of the Championship Series.

Canada had finished well behind the USA during the six-event regular season of the redesigned circuit. They bolstered their squad for the tourneys in Spain and France but still had to overcome injuries to Piper Logan in Valladolid and Chloe Daniels in Bordeaux.

The Women’s Eagles finish fourth on the Championship table, with Australia claiming the overall title ahead of New Zealand. France, Japan, Fiji, and Spain round out the rest of the field qualified for the 2026-27 World Series. Brazil and Argentina earned the right to compete at the Championship but finished in 9th and 10th respectively.

Meanwhile the USA’s Ariana Ramsey was the only player from the Americas to earn recognition in the overall series Dream Team. Joining the speedster are Fiji’s Reapi Ulunisau, Alycia Christiaens of France, Isabella Nasser and Maddison Levi from Australia, and Jorja Miller and Risi Pouri-Lane from New Zealand. Miller was named Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
