Three SRA Teams Competing for the Last Place in the Play-Offs

Three Super Rugby Americas (SRA) teams are competing for the last remaining place in the play-offs. Week 11 and 12 of Super Rugby Americas (SRA) 2026 saw three of the four Semi Finals places taken. Los Dogos were the first to secure their place in the Play-off’s with fellow Argentine sides Los Capibaras and Los Pampas qualifying for the play-offs in Week 12.

Two rounds remain in the regular season. Three teams are in the hunt for the last vacancy in the Semi Finals. This also means that two teams have no possibility of reaching the play-offs: Os Cobras and Yacare. Os Cobras fell to Los Pampas on Friday while Yacare lost against Los Tarucas on Saturday.

Os Cobras must beat either Los Tarucas or Selknam in the final two rounds to avoid the wooden spoon. Yacare will also be up against difficult opposition: Peñarol and Los Dogos. A win for either would be the second of the SRA season.

Both Los Tarucas and Selknam have the advantage of facing Os Cobras, the weakest team in the competition in the remaining rounds. It is an easier pathway to reaching the play-offs compared to Peñarol who face Los Pampas and Yacare. Peñarol have 27 points, seven less than both Selknam and Los Tarucas, meaning they need every point than can secure to boost their chances of defending their title in the Semi Finals.

Week 13 sees Selknam facing Los Pampas away in Buenos Aires. In addition to being a vital match for the Chilean side it is also hugely important for the home team as they target a home Semi Final. Selknam requires a win to avoid falling behind Los Tarucas.

Meanwhile, Los Tarucas will be in battle in São Paulo. Los Tucumanos will be targeting five points before turning their attention to the final round when they play host to Los Capibaras. If Los Tarucas do secure the last place in the SRA play-offs, then all four teams will be Argentine franchises.
