Argentine Tries in latest round of English Premiership

Round 16 of the English Premiership featured Argentine tries. Two Saturday fixtures saw Pumas scoring tries in England’s elite professional competition.

Bath were 69-12 winners over the Newcastle Red Bulls. The massive victory saw the team from England’s West Country sealing a spot in the Semi Finals. Bath are presently in 2nd position behind league-leaders, the Northampton Saints.

Bath’s win featured a double by Santiago Carreras. The Puma played the match for Bath at fullback. His two tries were scored in the second-half as Bath extended their 31-0 half-time lead. Carreras scored two of the six second-half Bath tries. Meanwhile, Pumas scrum-half, Simón Benítez Cruz had a try assist for Bath.

The Harlequins were 41-24 winners at Twickenham Stadium. The win saw the Quins’ complicating the Exeter Chiefs’ Semi Final ambitions. The Chiefs remain in contention, unlike the Harlequins.

The match saw early dominance from the Exeter Chiefs who led 24-14 at half-time. From there they failed to score further points but conceded 27 unanswered points from the Harlequins.

Rodrigo Isgró completed his return from injury for the Harlequins. Pumas loose head prop, Boris Wenger came on to score the final try of the contest; Wenger scored from a gift interception. Also involved was Pumas tight head prop, Pedro Delgado who started for the Harlequins.
