- Pittsburgh’s bid to host Rugby World Cup matches in 2031 may have received a boost after J. Kenneth Moritz and John H. Tippins of the Pittsburgh-based firm Stonewood Capital Management have invested in RFU Championship club the Cornish Pirates.
- URC club Zebre Parma have signed Patricio Baronio on a two-year contract. Baronio is from Jockey Rosario and has played for Argentina u20 and Argentina XV.
- Canadian Andrew Quattrin no longer plays for Valence Romans in France. Instead, he is now at New England Free Jacks in Major League Rugby (MLR).
- Santiago Medrano scored for Pro D2 leaders Vannes who lost against Provence on Thursday.
- Luke White is the 6th player in MLR history to play 100 matches in the league and the second Chicago Hounds’ player to reach 50 appearances for the franchise.
- A pectoral injury means that the English Premiership season is over for Benjamín Grondona.
- Domingo Saavedra and Matías Garafulic reached 50 appearances for Selknam together in El Clásico.
- Marc Duzan notes that Tomas Albornoz was outstanding for Toulon vs Leinster in the Champions Cup Semi Final loss. His creativity and decision making were memorable. Duzan also argues that the Puma may play a significant role in the race to Top 14 title.
- Tyler Duguid scored for Montpellier to help the French club book a spot in the European Challenge Cup Final against Ulster. Duguid was lost to Canada in 2024 when he debuted for France. He is aged 25 so may play for Canada at some point but will not be eligible for Canada at Rugby World Cup 2027.
- Meanwhile, Fiji has benefited from eligibility law changes. Virimi Vakatawa and Nathan Hughes have been named on a 50-man roster for the Nations Championship. Vakatawa played for France and Hughes for England respectively but neither are products of France Rugby or England Rugby systems. Both have caps against Argentina, an opponent of Fiji at Rugby World Cup 2027.
- Italian capped Argentine prop, Ivan Nemer has extended his contract with Benetton.
