Brazil Rolls Out the Big Guns for Rugby World Cup 2027 Qualifiers

With eyes firmly set on making history, Brazil has rolled out the big guns. Brazil is looking to qualify for a first-ever Men’s Rugby World Cup. Brazil’s Women will debut at the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup and the Men’s team has the ambition of doing so at Rugby World Cup 2027.

July will be critical for Brazil. Os Tupis warm-up against the Argentina XV on July 05 before taking on Chile in home-and-away matches. The fixtures against Los Cóndores are Rugby World Cup 2027 Qualifiers.

Head Coach Emiliano Caffera has assembled a 35-man roster. It is Super Rugby Americas (SRA) heavy with 36 players having played for Os Cobras this season. The nine other players play abroad. They include Wilton Rebolo (Major League Rugby), Carlo Mignot and Caique Segura (France), Matteo Dell’Acqua, Leonel Moreno and Antonio Zanatta (Italy), Felipe Rosa (Portugal), Raphael Hollister (England), and Yan Rosetti (Spain).

On the one hand, Rossetti is a veteran Brazilian test player. He makes his return to Os Tupis for the first time since 2021. On the other hand, winger Théo Bastardie is notably missing due to injury. Prop Matheus Rocha decided, for personal reasons, to miss the matches. He is now based in Portugal.
