Argentines Bautista Stavile, Gerónimo Prisciantelli, Ignacio Mendy and Facundo Cordero were try scorers in the latest round of the United Rugby Championship (URC). The tries came in three different matches. They came at the best possible time as Felipe Contepomi is set to announce his roster for Los Pumas’ training camp in London later this month.
Of the four players, only Ignacio Mendy played for Argentina in 2024. He scored a hat-trick for Los Pumas against Uruguay in Punta del Este in July. It was his only cap of the year. Prisciantelli was on the roster for the November Internationals but continues to wait for his first test cap. Stavile is putting up his hand for a first call-up while Cordero’s test debut for Argentina was in 2021. It remains his only cap.
