Dogos and Yacare Put on a Super Rugby Americas Thriller

Los Dogos are in pole position of Super Rugby Americas. After three rounds of play the side from Córdoba, Argentina is undefeated and has claimed three bonus point wins. Yacare has been playing some impressive rugby but not has a 1-2 season record.

• This was the third meeting between the teams. Los Dogos won the prior two by margins of 16 and 6 points.
• Dogos claimed the maximum 5 points while Yacare secured a losing bonus point and a 4-try bonus point.
• Juan Cruz Pérez Rachel scored the bonus point try for Yacare with time up. It was the 50th try of the season.
• Julián Hernández’ goal-kicking was substandard. Missed conversions and penalties facilitated Yacare’s task. Yacare also benefited from a 90 meter intercept try in the 30th minute.
• Dogos were hit by the 4th minute loss of scrum-half Agustín Moyano. Fly half Julian Hernández also left with an ankle injury late in the match. Yacare lost Thomas Mac Call after a knock to his leg in the opening play.
• The unbeaten Dogos travel to Buenos Aires to face Los Pampas in round four. Yacare return to Asunción to take-on Os Cobras.
