Brazil Name Roster with eyes on USA Eagles in Spain

Brazil are locked and loaded for their upcoming two test matches in Spain. Os Tupis will join Canada, the USA and hosts Spain in competing in the International Rugby Cup in November. The tournament will feature four of the best teams not competing at Rugby World Cup 2023.

A 30-man Brazilian roster will travel to Villajoyosa, Spain for the two matches. Brazil will face the USA on November 11 while Canada take-on Spain. Match day two will be on November 18 with the Final and Bronze Final.

Despite having named Emiliano Caffera as the new Head Coach, Brazil will actually be coached by Josh Reeves for the tournament in Villajoyosa. Caffera will be assistant for the tournament. The Uruguayan will be in charge of Brazil with an eye on debuting for the Rugby World Cup for the first-time.

Brazil’s 30-man roster includes players based in Brazil and abroad. Second-rower Gabriel Paganini will captain Brazil in Spain. Fly half Lucas Spago and back-rower Adrio de Melo will be dual vice-captains on tour.

The roster notably includes Wilton Rebolo. He is Brazil’s first Super Rugby player. Italian Semi Finalist Matteo Dell’Acqua is also on the roster as are Matheus Rocha, Caique Segura, New Zealander Ben Donald and Argentine Leonel Moreno.

Super Rugby Americas 2023 players dominate the roster. They are all expected back for Super Rugby Americas 2024. There is also a spot for former Brazilian representative Jacobus De Wet Van Niekerk. Pictured below, the tour marks a comeback for the South African. Italian Lorenzo Massari Temer is listed as unattached, meaning he could play for Os Cobras in 2024.
