Namibia to tour South America for Rugby World Cup Warm-Ups

The second best African test team will tour South America in July and August. Namibia will play away test matches against Uruguay and Chile and also play a non-capped match against the Argentina XV in the neutral location of Montevideo.

Namibia is ranked 21st in the world. Uruguay is 17th and Chile is 22nd. All three will compete at Rugby World Cup 2023. It will be the seventh Rugby World Cup for Namibia. The African country has competed at every tournament since debuting together with Uruguay in 1999. RWC 2023 will be the fifth for Uruguay and the first for Chile.

Scheduled for Saturday, August 12 Chile’s home match against Uruguay will begin international competition between the countries. The match against Uruguay will be the fifth between the Welwistchias and Los Teros.

Uruguay vs Namibia is also to be a preview of Rugby World Cup 2023. The teams will meet on Saturday, August 05 in Montevideo and then again at the World Cup in France. The World Cup meeting will be on Wednesday, September 27 in Lyon. The group also contains France, Italy and New Zealand.
