Houston signs English academy duo Abgongbon and Ojo

The Houston SaberCats have announced the signings of Tomiwa Agbongbon and Kitan Ojo for the remainder of the Major League Rugby season. Though both arrive from England, notably they are US-eligible with Abgongbon born in New Jersey and Ojo originally from Houston.

Agbongbon is a 21-year-old flanker who stands 6’3″ (1.91m) and most recently suited up for Loughborough University in the BUCS Super League. He spent the 2021-22 season with the Leicester Tigers senior academy side, appearing in four Premiership Rugby Cup matches.

Ojo is just 20 years old and can operate at outside center or wing. He is a product of the Harlequins academy program and was part of an extended England under-17 training camp in 2020. This past weekend Ojo suited up for the Rugby HTX academy side, earning man-of-the-match honors after scoring a hat-trick against the Dallas Reds.
