Old Glory signs ex-Giltinis eightman Langilangi Haupeakui

Old Glory have added more muscle to their forward pack in ex-Giltinis No8 Langilangi Haupeakui. The 33-year-old powerhouse was selected by Dallas in the Dispersal Draft but did not sign with the Jackals and will instead follow Kyle Baillie to DC for the remainder of the 2023 Major League Rugby season.

Capped three times for the USA Eagles in 2016, Haupeakui signed for LA ahead of the 2021 season after a three-year hiatus from professional rugby. Injuries limited him to just 13 appearances across his two campaigns but when fit he remains a destructive force in the contact area.

Haupeakui gives Old Glory another ball carrying option in the back row similar to captain Jamason Fa’anana-Schultz. He could make his DC debut alongside Baillie in Saturday’s match against ATL.
