Men’s and Womens’s Champions Crowned in South American u18 Sevens

Men’s and Women’s champions were crowned over the weekend in Rosario. The Argentine city was the setting for the 2022 South American Junior Sevens. The under 18 competition involved participants from throughout the region. Argentina won the Men’s u18 competition while Brazil won the Women’s u18’s.

The Men’s u18’s involved Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela. Of note was the non-participation of Brazil in this category. Argentina went through the tournament unbeaten while Chile finished second after having gotten the better of Uruguay in their Semi Final and then beaten Colombia in the Bronze Final.

Brazil won the Women’s u18’s competition. As Yarinhas had a fun time in Rosario. They defeated every team that they were up against – Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Paraguay. Uruguay did not compete in the Women’s competition.

Brazil enjoyed a 48-0 Semi Final win over Paraguay and a 21-10 victory in the final against Argentina. Colombia claimd the Bronze Final. They were 44-0 winners over Paraguay.
