San Diego confirms move to Snapdragon Stadium in 2023

The San Diego Legion have given their fans a major boost with confirmation that they will make Snapdragon Stadium their new home in the 2023 Major League Rugby season. Rumors had been circulating of a potential move to the new construction since the team announced their short-term move from Torero Stadium to the SDSU Sports Deck for the 2022 campaign.

Construction is underway on Snapdragon Stadium, a new 33,000-seat venue at San Diego State University that will primarily be the home of the school’s football team, the Aztecs. A recent press release indicates the new facility is on schedule to be completed by September of 2022.

The stadium will feature state-of-the-art amenities including two giant video screens and a grass playing field. It is located in Mission Valley, north of downtown San Diego. More images and a live stream of construction progress are available on Snapdragon Stadium’s official website.
