Old Glory adds Free Jacks preseason game

Old Glory DC have confirmed a second preseason ahead of the 2022 Major League Rugby season. Following their first match against the Toronto Arrows on Friday, January 21, the team will play against the New England Free Jacks on Friday, January 28. Both games will be played at Old Glory’s indoor training facility – The St. James in Springfield, Virginia.

The club will be hoping for better luck this year after seeing all three of their planned preseason games in 2021 cancelled due to the pandemic. Matches against the US Naval Academy and the Free Jacks in Virginia were first called off, then finally a trip to Georgia to face Rugby ATL.

There are now eight confirmed preseason games involving MLR teams. Those who have yet to announce any games prior to the February 5 regular season kickoff include NOLA Gold, Rugby ATL, Rugby New York, and the Utah Warriors. A complete preseason fixture list can be seen here.
