Old Glory prop Jamie Dever signs for London Irish

Old Glory DC prop Jamie Dever has signed a short-term contract with English Premiership club London Irish. While the specific length of the deal has not been specified, initially it does not preclude the 28-year-old from returning for the 2022 Major League Rugby season.

Joining the Exiles at the same time is Ryan Bower who is signed from Leicester Tigers. Both are age-grade internationals, with Dever representing Ireland u19s and Bower previously capped by the England u20s. They help fill the gap left by Facundo Gigena, who is currently in the Argentina squad and likely to be absent until the end of the November test window.

Dever joined the Houston SaberCats from Connacht near the end of the 2018 MLR campaign, and spent all of 2019 in Texas before joining the San Diego Legion in 2020. He made the switch to DC this past season and started 14 games in the No1 shirt while enjoying the best form of his career.
