Argentina u20s romp past Georgia u20s in Stellenbosch

Argentina claimed a massive win over Georgia this morning in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Los Pumitas were 82-10 winners over Georgia in game one of the Under-20 International Series.

Argentina’s u20s scored twelve tries, eleven more than Georgia. Replacement hooker Bautista Bernasconi claimed a hat-trick while Iñaki Delguy and Ramiro Waisberg both scored two tries. The South Americans converted a 21-3 half-time scoreline into an 82-10 romp.

The slow start was about nerves. Georgia scored first, via a penalty. The 3-0 lead was the only time in which Los Pumitas were behind during the contest. When Los Pumitas settled they were unstoppable. The first try saw Bautista Delguy’s younger brother showing glimpses of his brilliance.

Fly half Ramiro Waisberg and flanker Joaquín Moro both also crossed for first half tries. Waisberg was on target with all three conversions. He went on to land eleven out of his twelve conversions for the match.

Georgia started the second half well. They controlled the ball to work their way to the try zone. The score was from a lineout and a subsequent rolling-maul. The same trick was used by Los Pumitas for Bautista Bernasconi to respond with his first of three tries.

Thereafter it was one-way-traffic. Georgia had no response as Los Pumitas ran riot The South Americans touched down eight times in the try zone in the final 30 minutes of play.
