Austin re-signs front rower Brendan Rams

Versatile front rower Brendan Rams has re-signed with the Gilgronis for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 31-year-old will play a third season for Austin, first joining the club ahead of the 2019 season after recovering from a long-term knee injury.

Despite making 14 appearances in his two seasons Rams has yet to start an MLR game. He has proven an excellent bench option, however, with his powerful ball carrying and the ability to cover both hooker and tighthead prop. This past season he appeared in four matches, three as a hooker.

Originally from South Africa, Rams is US-qualified on residency. He makes it five front rowers confirmed for the AG’s for next season. Fellow returnees Jamie Mackintosh, LaRome White, and Mason Pedersen are joined by Collegiate Draft pick Mason Koch.
