Aaron Mitchell commits to fourth season with Legion

Aaron Mitchell has committed to a fourth campaign with the San Diego Legion. The 24-year-old tighthead prop has followed second row Siaosi Mahoni in signing a one-year extension through the 2021 Major League Rugby season.

In his three years with the Legion Mitchell has been patient, with 23 appearances but only two starts. The former collegiate football player was understudy to Australian international Paddy Ryan in 2019 and in 2020 appeared in all five games as a replacement for Eagles starter Paul Mullen.

Mitchell is the second front rower confirmed by San Diego for 2021, with hooker Dean Muir returning for the second year of his contract. Star flanker Psalm Wooching is another confirmed returnee, while fellow international Nate Augspurger has also signed a contract extension.
