Zinzan Elan-Puttick signs Austin extension

Zinzan Elan-Puttick has signed a two-year contract extension with the Austin Gilgronis. The 26-year-old South African captained the team in the first four matches of the 2020 Major League Rugby season having served as vice-captain in 2019.

A dynamic and versatile backfielder, Elan-Puttick is most at home as a fullback but filled in at flyhalf prior to the arrival of Kurt Morath and Will Magie this season. He has also lined up at outside center in five of his 22 games for the team.

Elan-Puttick is one of only five players to have appeared in each of Austin’s three MLR campaigns. Only former captain Ben Mitchell has played more minutes.
