Jaguares Based in South Africa Among the Options

Los Jaguares being based in South Africa is among the options following the suspension of Super Rugby. The respective lock own situations mean that a return of inter conference matches is all but out of the question.

In seeking a solution, one is for some conferences to be played within the borders of each country. This may mean some or all go ahead in New Zealand, Australia (including Sunwolves) and South Africa (including Jaguares).

Should the above model not be possible there is also a possibility for separate conferences to play in reconfigured competitions. One such possibility being tabled is for Los Jaguares to play in South Africa together with the Bulls, Lions, Sharks and Stormers as well as Pro 14 sides Cheetahs and the Southern Kings.

SA Rugby General Communications Manager, Andy Colquhoun has commented that he hopes that such a competition could begin next month.
