Relive three RWC Classic Full Matches this weekend

With Covid-19 sending countries into lock down mode sporting activities have been suspended. Good news is in, however, as three RWC classic matches are to be streamed for free in full this coming weekend.

They are from three different RWCs. The most recent is the classic encounter in which Uruguay upset Fiji in Kamaishi, Japan in RWC 2019. This game will be made available on Sunday, March 28. The early two matches were France vs Tonga from RWC 2011 and Fiji vs Wales from RWC 2007. They are to be shown on Friday and Saturday respectively.

The RWC 2007 match in Nantes, France between Fiji and Wales was a genuine rollercoaster ride. The Pacific Islanders were winners in a match featuring 70 points. It included eight tries and saw Fiji booking a place in the Final 8 for just the second time in RWC history.

Four years later it was another Pacific Island country that upset a Six Nations competitor. This time it was Tonga downing France in Wellington. It had just two tries with either time crossing once. The match was one with nothing riding on it, as France was already into the Final 8 and could not finish top of the pool. Notwithstanding, the French failed to fire and Tonga came away with a throughly deserved victory.

Then in 2019, Uruguay pulled-off arguably the biggest upset of all three results. Los Teros’ win over Fiji was that of David vs Goliath, a genuine team doing their very best against an opponent which had pushed Australia close in their prior match.
