Canada make two changes for Dubai

Canada’s Women’s team has added experience to their roster for the Dubai Sevens. Britt Benn and Sara Kaljuvee return after missing the Series opener in Glendale with injury. Dropping out to make room are Delaney Aikens and Breanne Nicholas.

A 6th-place finish in Glendale was a disappointing return for the side after coming through the pool stage undefeated. Their 29-26 loss to eventual champions USA in the Quarter Final knocked them into the consolation bracket, with Spain earning the upset win in the 5th-place Final.

After nine weeks of preparations, the team will get an immediate chance to make up for the loss to the Women’s Eagles as the two North American rivals have been drawn together with Brazil and Russia in Pool A. The three-day tournament will begin on December 5. A live broadcast will be available on the CBC Sports website. A complete fixture list can be seen here.
