Taylor Howden moves from NOLA to Houston

The Houston SaberCats have signed Taylor Howden for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. After two seasons with the NOLA Gold, the 33-year-old New Zealand native heads to Texas to provide a highly experienced option at flyhalf or center.

Howden has been a regular in the NOLA side over his two seasons with the club, starting all eight games in 2018 and appearing in 13 this past season. While with the Gold he also acted as Academy Director, a role he may reprise at Houston with the recent departure of Matt Trouville.

Houston have new confirmed seven new names for 2020 with more still to be revealed. The SaberCats are looking to build on their promising end to the 2019 campaign that saw them finish on a four-game winning streak after just two victories from 12 games heading in.
