Paraguay Outclass Bolivia In Historic Test Match

Paraguay outclassed Bolivia in a historic test match. Played in Asunción on Friday evening Los Yákares were 109-0 winners over Los Colorados in what was the first ever test match for the Bolivians.

The final score is not illustrative of the full match. After 20 minutes there had only been one try scored as Paraguay had a 5-0 lead. As time advanced Paraguay’s superiority would see more opportunities and the team would succeed in running in tries.

Bolivia was short of the full compliment of 23 players. With three players pulling out of the match they would have twenty players with fifteen starting and five as replacements.

Paraguay fielded a genuine side packed with players from the Americas Rugby Challenge (ARCh). This saw Bolivia playing against a much higher level.

The result is officially the biggest win in history for Paraguay. It surpasses the previous record win of 94-7 in 2005 against Venezuela.

Future matches are certain with the net encounter between Paraguay and Bolivia to take place in Bolivia. It is also the start of a pathway to competing in regional competition. This will inevitably see matches against different countries, ones ranked lower than that of Paraguay.
