Canada to play BC All-Stars in World Cup warm-up

Canada have added another match to their World Cup preparations. With a friendly against Guinness Pro 14 side Leinster in Hamilton scheduled for August 24 and a final test against the US Eagles before departing slated for September 7, the team has moved to fill the gap with a match against the BC All-Stars on Friday, August 30 in Langford.

Hosted at the newly-renovated Westhills Stadium, the All-Stars will be a selection from the BC Premier League that should feature a number of international age-grade standouts and Canadian Rugby Championship veterans. There will also be a unique curtain-raiser as the newly reformed Pacific Pride will play an inter-squad match earlier in the afternoon.

The fixture completes Canada’s schedule ahead of RWC 2019 with six games scheduled between now and their Pool B opener against Italy on September 26. Three tests in the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup will begin the build-up to the flagship competition.
