Berchesi Takes Dax Into Play-Off’s

A strong performance from Felipe Berchesi took Dax into the Fédérale 1 play-off’s. The Uruguayan fly half scored 14 points in Dax’s away victory over Suresnes. His points consisted of a penalty, three conversions, and a try.

The last of Berchesi’s 14 points came in the 68th minute. His final kick would see Dax going ahead 29-28 and that is how it would remain on full-time.

The result of the 22nd round fixture saw Dax finishing the regular season on 81 competition points. They were bettered only by Rouen Normandie in Pool 1 who finished with 102 points. Breeches’ performance was so pivotal that it saw Dax finishing with just one competition point more than Union Cognac Saint Jean to reach the Quarter Finals by the narrowest of margins.

Next up for Dax is a Quarter Final against Rouen Normandie on Saturday, April 27. The match keeps Dax’s dream of returning to the Pro D2 alive. They were relegated from the second division last season but have their destiny in their own hands for the 2019-2020 season.
