Draws revealed for Hong Kong Sevens

The draws for all three brackets at the upcoming Hong Kong Sevens have been revealed. Nine teams from eight different Americas nations will be competing, three each in the Main Draw, Men’s Core Qualifiers, and Women’s Core Qualifiers. The three-day tournament begins on April 5.

Argentina, Canada, and the USA will compete in the main draw of the HSBC Sevens Series event. Pool B will see Argentina and Canada grouped together along with France and invitational side Portugal. Overall series leaders USA will head up Pool D and compete against England, Wales, and Spain.

The men’s Core Qualifiers will feature both Uruguay and Jamaica in Pool F, along with Ireland and Russia. Chile are one of the top seeds in the Qualifiers and are at the top of Pool G, where they had been drawn with Germany, Uganda, and the Cook Islands.

Mexico will represent the Americas in Pool A of the women’s Core Qualifiers where they are matched with Japan, Belgium, and Scotland. Pool C contains two South American entries – Brazil and Argentina – along with Kazakhstan and Poland.
