Duque Brothers Join Brazil’s Elite 50-Cap Club

The Duque brothers, Lucas and Moisés, will make history this evening as they join Brazil’s elite 50-cap club. Both men will reach 50 caps for Brazil in Os Tupis away test match against the USA in the Americas Rugby Championship.

From Brazil’s rugby heartland city of São José dos Campos the Duque brothers have been mainstays in Os Tupis. The older brother, Lucas, returned after time away for his studies to be able to now join Moisés in achieving the remarkable feat of 50 caps together in the same match.

Lucas and Moisés Duque are to take Brazil’s list of players with 50 or more caps up to five. They follow João Luiz da Ros (67), Daniel Danielewicz (64), and Ramiro Mina (50). The trio who precede the Duque brothers were all forwards. Lucas Duque was primarily a flyhalf but now plays scrumhalf for Brazil while Moisés Duque has been inside center for the majority of his test career.
