Chile U20s Champions of South America

Chile are the 2018 u20s Champions of South America. The title was won on home soil on Sunday after a successful unbeaten run in the tournament. Also competing were Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

Los Cóndores 7’s defeated Brazil and Paraguay on day one but fell to a 22-19 defeat against Uruguay. An additional upset on the opening day saw Paraguay overcoming Brazil 28-24.

The results saw Chile facing Paraguay in one Semi Final and Brazil against Uruguay in the other. Los Cóndores 7’s were comprehensive winners in the first Semi Final as were Brazil in the second. This saw them meeting in the final after Uruguay completed a 32-0 win in the Bronze Final.

In the final Brazil started strongly to score the opening try. It would be the only score from the visitors in the match. Chile took control with tries to Martín del Otto, Tomás Contreras, Vicente Tredinick (2), Gonzalo Lara, Vicente Contreras, and Tomás Salas.
