Two Pumas in World XV to face Japan

Two Pumas have been included in the World XV selection to face Japan. No8 Leonardo Senatore and inside center Santiago González Iglesias have been named in the squad to play against Japan in Osaka on Friday October 26.

The fixture will be played at the Higashiosaka Hanazono Rugby Stadium. The same venue is to be the setting for four pool matches in RWC 2019. Of these both the USA and Argentina will play their respective pool matches at the venue against Tonga.

Senatore and González Iglesias are to play under Robbie Deans. The former Head Coach of Australia will be in charge of the compositwe side to take on the Japanese.

In 2019 both of the Pumas players involved have been fringe options under Mario Ledesma. Neither player was able to be a regular under the legendary former Argentine hooker for both Los Jaguares and Los Pumas. They face staunch opposition to find a means of competing at RWC 2019 due to the forcoming inclusion of European-Based players in their positions.

In the 2019 Rugby Championship Senatore received no game time. Flanker Javier Ortega Desio moved to No8 to start throughout the competition. Cover existed from other players.

González Iglesias was used as cover for both inside center and fly half. He was less favored by Ledesma than had been the case under Daniel Hourcade. With strong rumors indicating the inclusion of Patricio Fernández and Benjamín Urdapilleta for the November Internationals game time in the November Internationals may not go beyond Osaka.
