RFU Championship – Week 2 Preview

The second week of the 2018-19 Greene King IPA Championship season will feature four games on Saturday and two on Sunday. Taking the headlines this week is US Eagles lock Ben Landry who is set to make his European professional debut alongside flanker Andrew Durutalo in the Ealing starting team to place London Scottish.

Their Eagles teammate Bryce Campbell continues in the midfield for London Irish as they host Nottingham on Saturday. Ciaran Hearn will be on the bench for the Exiles, with his fellow Canadian international Shane O’Leary starting at flyhalf for the visitors.

Justin Blanchet‘s first run of the new season will be as a replacement, the flanker named among the reserves for Bedford Blues against Jersey Reds. Will Hooley will not dress for the game after taking a knock in last week’s game against Nottingham.

Sunday will see Brett Beukeboom lead out the Cornish Pirates for their home match against Coventry. There is only one change to the Pirates side this week, with Matt Evans dropping to the bench after starting last week.

Yorkshire Carnegie got off to a disappointing start against Hartpury but have retained both Jake Ilnicki and Dan Moor in their starting side. They will face off against former Eagles midfielder Ronnie McLean who again wears the No12 shirt for Richmond.
