Competitors Confirmed for 2018 Buenos Aires Youth Games

World Rugby has confirmed the competitors for 2018 the Buenos Aires Youth Games. Taking place from October 13-18 six men’s and women’s teams will compete at the Youth Olympic Games in there Argentine capital.

It is to be the second time in which Rugby sevens will feature at a Youth Olympic Games. It follows the inaugural occasion from four years ago in Nanjing, China. At those games France won the men’s Gold while Australia won the women’s. Argentina won Silver behind France.

This year’s competition In Buenos Aires will see Argentina and France both returning. They are to be joined by Japan, Samoa, South Africa and USA. In the women’s competition Canada, and Colombia, will represent the Americas and will be joined by France, Kazakhstan, New Zealand and Tunisia.

The Colombians are to be making their first appearance in Rugby Sevens at the Youth Olympic Games. The same is true of Samoa and South Africa in the men’s section and France, Kazakhstan and New Zealand in the women’s.

Rugby Sevens joins 31 other sports at Buenos Aires 2018. The rugby is to be played at the Club Atletico San Isidro right in the heartland of Argentine rugby.
