Rugby Canada partners with Canterbury

Rugby Canada has announced a new multi-year partnership with Canterbury. The prominent New Zealand-based rugby apparel company will supply kit for all of Canada’s national teams as well as merchandise for general sale.

Canterbury replaces previous kit suppliers Under Armour, who had been the apparel partner since May 2014. The new Canterbury kit is available for purchase immediately on the Rugby Canada website and will take the field for the first time this coming weekend at the Las Vegas 7s.

As part of the announcement Rugby Canada also unveiled a new logo and website. Rugby.ca is the new domain name and the site, fully bilingual, has been given a complete overhaul by Montreal-based media company Locomotive.

Developed by Vancouver design firm Hulse & Durrell – best known for their work on the 2010 Olympic Games, the re-branding is the first since 2003. The new logo discards black completely, instead opting for a simple maple leaf shield design with ‘RUGBY’ the only lettering.

A video featuring Rugby Canada CEO Allen Vansen speaking about the current state of Canadian rugby and the new branding has been published on their YouTube channel.
