Anglo-Welsh Cup – Round 4 Preview

Santiago Cordero will make his Exeter Chiefs debut against Saracens on Saturday in Round 4 of the Anglo-Welsh Cup. The game-breaking Argentine winger gets his first taste of European rugby with a familiar face on the other side of the pitch. Fellow Pumas World Cup attendee Juan Figallo has been named as a reserve for Saracens.

Elsewhere it’s slim pickings with only two individuals with Americas connections named in teams largely cobbled together with academy and loan players. St. Lucia native Marland Yarde returns to the Sale Sharks lineup for their away match at Scarlets. The former England winger has his work cut out for him if he hopes to return to international contention.

While the Eagles are getting set to play the Argentina XV in Los Angeles tomorrow, USA prop Chris Baumann will start at tighthead for Leicester Tigers in their match against Wasps on Sunday. With his contract due to expire at the end of the season this is a rare and important opportunity for the 30-year-old to impress the Tigers staff or any potential suitors. Facundo Gigena is to feature as a replacement prop.
