Uruguay swap five for Fijian challenge

Looking for an immediate rebound from their surprise first round loss to Portugal, head coach Mario Lamé has rung the changes for his Uruguay side to face the powerful Fijians in their World Rugby u20 Trophy match on Saturday. The Teritos were off the pace in the poor weather on Tuesday and did not show the form that was expected of one of the pre-tournament favorites.

A solid scrum did show up against the Portuguese and Lamé has opted not to tinker much in the pack. Jaime Coll rotates in at loosehead prop with Agustín Sosa moved to the bench, and Juan Garese gives way to James McCubbin in the only other change to the starting eight.

The backs, on the other hand, did not fare well and have paid the price. Joaquín Freitas and Juan Martín Cattivelli are the new halfbacks with Juan Manuel Fernández coming into the outside centre position. Goal kicker Alejo Piazza moves to the right wing and Matías D’Avanzo is bumped from flyhalf to fullback.

Kickoff is set for 4pm local time, 3pm Eastern. A live stream will be provided by World Rugby.
