Americas Weekend Guide: Aviva Premiership – Week 17

Week 17 of the Aviva Premiership will be played this weekend in England. The round will see matches spread from Friday to Sunday. Involved are to be a host of players from the Western Hemisphere. Below is the Americas Weekend Guide, documenting those involved from the region.

Friday’s clash between the Sale Sharks and Northampton Saints will see the USA and Argentina represented. Eagles flyhalf AJ MacGinty has been named as a replacement back for the home side. Also appearing off the bench will be Juan Pablo Estelles. The 2016 Olympian will cover the midfield and wings for the Saints.

Gloucester will be looking to continue their strong form in recent weeks. Their opponent this weekend will be the Harlequins. Argentine forward Mariano Galarza will start for the cherry-and-whites in the second row.

On Sunday the Newcastle Falcons welcome title favorites Saracens. With the North London side missing players to Six Nations duty, the Falcons have a prime opportunity to continue their impressive form. Starting at inside center will be former Puma Juan Pablo Socino. Canadian Evan Olmstead will play lock. For Saracens Marcelo Bosch and Juan Figallo are both to start.

Bringing week 17 to a close will be the vital basement battle. Both the Worcester Warriors and Bristol need the win to fight each other off in the battle to avoid relegation. Involved for each team will be a front-rower from the Americas. Gastón Cortes starts at tighthead for Bristol while Joe Taufete’e has been named as Worcester’s replacement hooker.
