Americas Players in RFU Championship – Week 2

The Greene King IPA Championship heads into its second week of the regular season this weekend with four games set for Saturday and two on Sunday. It’s slim pickings for Americas fans this week with only a half-dozen players to take note of.

Justin Blanchet has been ruled out of Bedford’s game against Jersey with an injury suffered last weekend but is expected to be back in action soon, possibly in time for next week. Both Jebb Sinclair and Ciaran Hearn are again missing from the London Irish team to play Richmond at the Madejski, with the visitors starting Tyler Hotson at lock and Ronnie McLean in the midfield. Aaron Carpenter is absent from the London Welsh lineup facing up London Scottish at the Athletic Ground.

That leaves four Americas players to Sunday duty, all at the Mennaye Field. Brett Beukeboom, Matt Evans, and Nicolás de Battista all start for Cornish Pirates, with Ignacio Sáenz Lancuba arriving as a starting loosehead with Ealing Trailfinders.
