Fry joins PRO Rugby ranks

Eric Fry has signed on with the Sacramento Express for the rest of the season. The Eagles World Cup prop arrives from Newcastle Falcons of the Aviva Premiership, where he has spent the past two years after joining from London Scottish. Fry won the last of his 40 caps during the Americas Rugby Championship but was not selected by John Mitchell to take part in the June internationals.

The move is not a surprise to most after being mooted several weeks ago following Fry’s departure from Falcons. He boosts an impressive Sacramento front row unit that already features fellow international Olive Kilifi and Canadian hooker Ray Barkwill along with upstart All-American prop Valdemar Lee-Lo. The 28-year-old will jump straight into the lineup to face the Denver Stampede at Ciber Field on Sunday.
