No more referring to your favorite PRO Rugby side just by its locale. Just hours after closing their fan-poll on the shortlists announced last week, the new organization has announced the winners and new names for each of the five franchises. The new team names are:
Denver Stampede – beating out Peak and Vipers. Players and fans had openly campaigned for Cobras.
Ohio Aviators – beating out Flight and Presidents.
Sacramento Express – beating out Steamers and Pioneers.
San Diego Breakers – beating out Admirals and Destroyers. Widely popular Dragons was not an option.
San Francisco Rush – beating out Miners and Fury.
No logos have been created as of yet.
