Matera, Tuculet to Start Against Sharks

Pablo Matera is to return to the starting lineup for Los Jaguares who play host to the Sharks on Saturday evening in Buenos Aires. The World Cup Puma is the only change to the pack that out performed the Kings in Los Jaguares’ previous fixture.

The Alumni ball-carrying flanker will join Leonardo Senatore and Javier Desio Ortega in the back-row. They are to play behind Tomás Lavanini and Matías Alemanno, the later of the two being preferred to Guido Petti. Up front Agustín Creevy will join Santiago García Botta and Ramiro Herrera.

Martín Landajo and Nicolás Sánchez are to retain their halves combination and Juan Martín Hernández will, as was the case against the Kings, will offer a second play-making option from inside center. Replacing Matías Moroni, who is in Paris with Los Pumas 7’s will be Matías Orlando at outside center.

Also in Paris is Santiago Cordero who played right wing against the Kings. His spot will go to Emiliano Boffelli who will return from fullback, having started in place of Joaquín Tuculet who missed out last timre around due to concussion protocol.

As was also the case in the lead up to facing the Hurricanes, winger Manuel Montero was unable to complete training today with Los Jaguares. This time around, though, the knock has been deemed to be minor and he is expected to start against the Sharks.

Montero returned to face the Kings two weeks ago, scoring a try in what was Los Jaguares’ first home Super Rugby victory. For Montero it was his first important fixture since returning from knee injury. The severity of his injury in mid-2015 ruled him our of Rugby World Cup 2015.

Providing cover for Montero is veteran Lucas González Amorosino who entered in place of Montero in training today.
