Arizona State University take on Mexico

This coming Saturday, April 23 Arizona State University will place host to the senior men’s rugby team of Mexico. The meeting will be a sanctioned rugby match, one in which the visitors are seeking to gain experience to utilize in the upcoming 2016 Rugby Americas North competition.

Mexico’s participation in the 2016 Rugby Americas North Championship will begin on May 07. Mexico will take-on the Bahamas in a North Zone fixture. Subsequent matches will see Mexico playing at home against Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.

The Federación Mexicana de Rugby (Mexican Rugby Federation – FMRU) has selected a roster of 23 players who are in Scottsdale, Arizona from April 20-24. Included are players from the recent Hong Kong Sevens tournament. They are joined by four additional staff members.

The five players who featured in Hong Kong are Roberto Calderon, Pascal Nadaud, Gonzalo Pons, Diego Ramirez and Fharid Samano (pictured).
