Jake Ilnicki back for another year with Seawolves

Jake Ilnicki has signed on for a third season with the Seattle Seawolves. The Canadian international follows countrymen Djustice Sears-Duru, Nakai Penny, George Barton, and Brock Staller in extending with the two-time Major League Rugby champions.

A veteran of two World Cup campaigns and 38 tests for Canada, Ilnicki has been a regular in the Seawolves lineup since arriving in the second half of the 2019 season. He played in four of five matches during the 2020 campaign, splitting time in the No3 shirt with former Australia u20 rep Tim Metcher.

The Seawolves have also featured John Hayden at tighthead prop, though he has yet to be confirmed for the 2021 season. Otherwise their front row stocks are as of yet unchanged from 2020 with Kellen Gordon joining Sears-Duru at loosehead and specialist hooker options Stephan Coetzee and Mike Shepherd.
