Pumas to Face Georgia at the Estadio 23 de Agosto in June

Los Pumas are to face Georgia at the Estadio 23 de Agosto in June. The fixture will be Argentina’s third and final home international of the month. The match will be played on June 24, seeing test match rugby played in the city of San Salvador de Jujuy for the first time.

The Northern Argentine city had been a contender to host one of the two matches against England. Those matches are to instead be played in San Juan and Santa Fé.

Jujuy, like San Juan and Santa Fé hosted matches in the 2011 Copa América. Unlike the other two, Jujuy has not been used by the UAR in recent years. The Argentina XV played host to Chile in San Juan in 2016 while Los Pumas faced Italy in Santa Fé.

Both England and Georgia last played in Argentina in 2013. Georgia’s match against Los Pumas on that occasion is the only match to date between the sides not to be a Rugby World Cup match. Their match in Jujuy will be the fifth test match between the sides.
