Arregui Called in for Injured Gigena

Argentina’s preparation for Saturday’s home international against Italy has been rocked with news that Facundo Gigena it out. The 21 year old was injured playing for the Argentina XV against Chile on Saturday.

In his place Daniel Hourcade has called in Felipe Arregui who had been named on the Argentina XV to travel to Romania to play in the upcoming World Rugby Nations Cup. He is now there official back-up to Santiago García Botta.

Last October García Botta was flown to London to join Los Pumas in time to take a spot on the bench for the Rugby World Cup Bronze Final. With neither Marcos Ayerza or Lucas Noguera Paz in camp at present the Belgrano Athletic front-rower is now to be handed great responsibility.

Covering García Botta will not only be a young player but also an uncapped one. An appearance for Arregui would mark his test debut. Prior representative experience for Arregui includes u19’s and u20’s for Argentina including three appearances at the 2014 Junior World Championship.
