It was another first for Canadian international Sophie de Goede against Bristol on Saturday. Forced into the second row by the return of England’s Poppy Cleall, de Goede remained a running threat and was rewarded with her first try as a professional in the 36-10 win over the Bears.

The win maintains Saracens’ unbeaten record after six rounds of the Premier 15s, with the team just one point behind league-leading Harlequins. Five points behind in third place are the Loughborough Lightning, who crushed the Durham Sharks by 57-3 on Saturday.
Starring for the Lightning was another Canadian lock. Courtney Holtkamp was named Player of the Match by The Women’s Rugby Show after a rampaging display. She packed down alongside Abby Duguid in the second row, with DaLeaka Menin starting at tighthead prop and Sara Svoboda on the flank.
